| La mia piccola di tre anni e mezzo ha disegnato questo insetto guardandone uno sotto vetro al Museo di Storia Naturale. Non disegna cosi' a casa. Credo proprio che sia stato l'avere davanti l'originale. My little one is three and a half. She drew this insect looking at one under a glass at the Natural History Museum in London. When she is at home, she certainly does not draw like this. I think this is due to the power of nature, and being in front of the original subject. |

| Vi porto a fare un giro intorno al sole. Abbiamo parlato dei mesi dell'anno e della rivoluzione della terra intorno al sole nel giro dei 12 mesi. Abbiamo parlato delle stagioni e le abbiamo abbinate ai mesi e agli equinozi. Con le carte delle nomenclature dei pianeti ho fatto fare un giro alla Terra intorno al sole mentre spiegavo i tempi e i mesi dell'anno. Today I am going to take you around the Sun! We talked about the months in the year, of movement of the earth around the sun which takes 12 months. We talked about the seasons, the equinoxes. With the planets flashcards I physically made the Earth rotate around the Sun flashcard whilst I was explaining the times and the months. |

| Ricostruiamo la frase. In ogni scodella ci sono bigliettini piegati che contengono una parola. In alto a sinistra delle ciotole ci sono tre biglietti numerati con le frasi intere. Mio figlio deve aprire i biglietti, mettere in ordine le parole, poi controllare con il biglietto grande se le ha costruite giuste, poi le ricopia sul quaderno. Let's rebuild the phrase. In these bowls there are little pieces of folded paper. At the top left of the bowls there are three numbered pieces of paper with the three phrases written in the right order. The exercise consists in opening the folded pieces of paper, organising each phrase in the right order, checking it against the control piece of paper, and then copying the phrase on the notebook.  |

| Ed eccoci alle prese con i cilindri con pomellino disposti a quadrato, con tutti e quattro i segmenti. Una bella sfida. (Ogni segmento presenta cilindri che cambiano o per altezza, o per larghezza o per tutte e due, alcuni corrispondono e sono uguali). here we are with the knobbed cylinders in a square. It is a nice challenge. (Each segment changes in height or width or both, some cylinders are matching in different segments). |

| Addizioni con tre addendi aiutati dalle tavole di Seguin per fissare le cifre dall'undici al 20. Usiamo anche le tabelle con i risultati per addizioni (e sottrazioni) cosi' mio figlio si puo' correggere da solo. Here the sums with results between 11 and 20 were helped by the Seguin boards. We also use the results chart for sums and subtractions so that my son can correct himself. |

| Qui stiamo chiarendo i concetti di unita' e decine, perche' appunto in passato avevo visto che confondeva il 12 e ogni numero fino al 19 con le decine successive, ossia, diceva dodici poi scriveva ventuno. Per assurdo e' in grado di scrivere e contare fino ai miliardi, ma le prime le due decine, che sono diciamo la base, sono le piu' dure, quindi per ora ci fermiamo qua! Here we are working on the concepts of units and tens as in the past I had seen my son saying 12 and writing 21. He can count into the billions, but the first 20 numbers are an important base for the rest, so for now we stop here! |

These are flash cards on the apple. Each card is different with little details. She has to match the one without the name with the one with the name, just by looking at the image. |

To finish I would to add that this week we have been singing beautiful songs to fix concepts. I found them on my Montessori course, but I also found them on this website, they are fabulous they range from the continent song, to the months, the days of the week, the colours and much more.
